The Spotlight Is No Longer On Me

I graduated college. Here's the proof...
No need for the Congrats!

There isn't much to celebrate. The spotlight that was on me is now off...

I'm bored.

Many people are saying "The Best 4 years are over" and I am going to disagree with that statement. That is incredibly depressing...I would like to think that I am still going to be the same Cassie with the same amount of optimistic skip in my step so don't tell me life is no longer fun.

What I am going to tell you...is the transition is odd. The best word to describe it is LOST. I don't feel like I belong in my hometown and my college town is no longer my identity either :( so it's time to find a new voyage. But with time that will come.

In the meantime, adjusting to being home is a comedy in it's own right.

First problem is the DirectTv is out for awhile...this may or may not be directly related to my dad trying to fix it on the roof. There are so many wonderful shows I had planned on catching up on..Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Jon and Kate Plus 8 (cuz they are having affairs and its great tv and seeing Kate go crazy on Jon is interesting, i think Kate should get a twitter because we all know she doesn't go near any of her kids ), The Hills (i love to hate it) and live events such as big soccer games and the NBA playoffs.

So there is really nothing to do. Nobody wants to play with me but my dog, Reilly. So i've been forced to find other forms of entertainment. Usually, entertainment related to spiders..which I hate...yes that's how bored I am. Yesterday, I got blamed for two of the grossist, juciest and camoflauge wearing spiders...saying they came from my suitcase because only Texas would have such insulting insects.

So i've been keeping myself entertained through killing insects...although a black spider fell from the ceiling in the kitchen today and i completely lost sight of it. Oh well. I was very successful when I was so bored that I started wrestling Reilly when I discovered a blood sucking blown up tick stealing blood from Reillys leg. But no worries. I knew just what to do. I screamed. Because of my swift actions my mom came over and pulled the blood sucking theif out of his leg. Im a hero...I know.

Second problem is my life is a disorganized tornado. I say this because I am convinced that even a tornado would place things in better places than my mother and I have. Unpacking and packing is becoming an olympic event here. Anytime I want to do some sort of activity I cant find the proper attire or shoe wear for said activity. As you can imagine, a girl with as many clothes and shoes as I posess, this is very stressful.

Third problem, I realized I have nothing to bring to the family table. For the past 21 years of my life...my parents would arrive home from some event..the majority of the time my dad came home from work and I would spend the next hour impressing him with all the great things I did that day and the interesting stories of my exciting life whether it be tales of the 4th grade or a great practice in high school. Now, i have nothing to say to the parental units when they come home. It's quite depressing. My suitcases being left in the upstairs hallway even spurred the parental units to discuss "where they are going to put me in the new house" one of them even suggested the undone basement.

Fourth problem, my sisters are no where to be found. Maura goes to school all day...i mean like forever...then she works after school then dan and her go to dinner and she comes home at 8:15 and says its way past her bedtime. I mean there is literally no time for me to even get her to braid my hair and again I think she finds me pretty much a nuisance. And britt well shes in Cali.

On a positive note, Reilly took me on a walk today (literally) and I got some babysitting jobs. I did feel bad when one of the neighborhood moms pulled up and her mini-van and opened the sliding door which resulted in Reilly jumping into the backseat of her car. I think he was tired from our walk and wanted a ride home...but he didn't even ask. Rude.

Friends Fur-ever!!!

I came home to New Jersey today from Syracuse...I was all excited...but as usual when I arrived home, nobody was there. Everyone is to busy with work and school and other unimportant activities to welcome me. But you know who is always there to welcome me? My dog Reilly! He really loves me! Infact, he actually cries when I come home and he doesn't leave my side for along time once I'm home. He licks my face and jumps! It's a fantastic welcoming home party! We almost always go right into snack time together and I always give him my left overs. It's a really perfect relationship (he also puts up with my singing and only gives me a look when I hit an off note(unlike a certain boyfriend-hmm)). My only complaint is that when he sleeps in my bed he steals most of the covers and thinks he's a small lap dog and thinks it's ok to sleep on me when he really weighs about as much as me.

But in all seriousness dogs are a huge part of the family! So this blog post is in celebration of my best dog friend Reilly! It's been a little over a year since our other Golden Retriever, Celtic died and Reilly has had a rough year but he's hanging in there.

Here's to "man's best friend"

Jessica Simpson and Rascal Flatts Concert

Maybe one of the best days ever.....JESSICA SIMPSON and Rascal Flatts at Madison Square Garden!!!!! My cousin Melissa and I went and we had floor seats...it was amazing! Jessica's voice sounded great and she sang all my favorite songs. Plus, she looked super skinny and I loved her outfit. All the Rascal Flatts shook our hands while they performed. It was a great concert!

Happy Birthday Joanna!!

Bowling

We have an official new hobby....BOWLING! I forgot how much fun this sport can be (and how much your fingers hurt the next day). I think this is something we will be doing lots more!

Texas Recap

This will be the first time in a month I will be in one state for longer than four days in the last month. As I said it's always fun to go to Texas A&M, everyone always makes it worth the long trip... here are some pictures as promised.

Groundhog's Day- back in the Northeast

After a trip home from Texas on Superbowl Sunday I am back in Syracuse now and wishing I wasn't....it was so nice to see and feel sun this weekend (and see some of my favorite people and a particularly special boy). I forgot how great it is to be outside in nice weather. But today it is dreary and mildly cold . And our good friend  "Punxsutawney Phil" crawled out of his stump today and saw his shadow. (what an interesting name...Maybe Brad and Angelina should use that one next...maddox, Pax, knox, and Punx) This funny Northeast tradition means 6 more weeks of winter. UGHHH!!! 6 more weeks....well that brings us to the middle of March...oh dear. I love animals especially funny ones like groundhogs so I really don't mind this pretty pointless holiday (especially since it's Brian's birthday-Happy Birthday Gh!) but I have always wondered where the hell it came from so here it is kiddies.....
"According to German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 -- the Christian holiday of Candlemas -- winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow was seen, legend said spring would come early."
